What can we promise with stain removal?

We can promise to use a professional process and do our best, to give you a high chance of stain removal, but we can’t promise perfect results. While we do have great success most of the time on most stains, unfortunately there are times when permanent damage has been done to a garment as a result of heavy soiling, a spill or stain. Some contaminants can permanently dye or damage the fibres of your garment, and while we might be able to improve the appearance, we may not be able to fully restore it to it’s original condition.

Other times we find that there is damage to the fibres once we’ve cleaned it and attempted stain removal, and we can’t reverse actual fibre damage. We will always do our best, and keep you informed when this is the case.

What caused the stain – some things are much more likely to have a permanent dying or damaging effect. Things that are oily or have a strong pigment are much harder to remove than neutral non-oily stains.
Whether the stain has set – attempts to clean the spill or spot, using the wrong products, having put it through the wash as well as the temperature of water, and how the garment was dried can all set a stain.
How old the stain is – newer is always easier to handle than older. Storing an unwashed garment for a long time can contribute to setting the stain and making it difficult to remove.
What kind of fabric the garment is made of – synthetic fabrics are more resistant to water based stains, but more likely to hold onto oil based stains. Natural materials also have different traits when it comes to holding onto a stain.
